Time Difference Between Onsets Of Lateral And Medial Hamstring Muscles During Gait In Patients With Patellofemoral Pain: A Preliminary Study

چکیده

Objective: Early activation of lateral hamstrings (LH) relative to medial (MH) has been thought be the cause abnormal knee abduction and external rotation tibia, which affects orientation patellar tendon increases patellofemoral compression. Therefore, early LH MH is considered have a role in pain (PFP). The aim this study was investigate time difference between onsets patients with PFP during gait. Methods: Thirteen bilateral (mean age 28.73±7.44 years) 13 asymptomatic subjects 30.47±6.22 were recruited study. Gait analysis performed using ELITE system (BTS, Milano-Italy) video cameras (TVC, BTS, Milano-Italy). Participants requested walk at self-selected speed on force platform, EMG data recorded from muscles for 10 initial contacts by TELEEMG Time calculated each contact moving averaging method, then their mean obtained participant. Results: – 26.9±22.2 ms 11.2±14.2 control subjects, mainly became activated earlier compared most both groups. There statistically significant differences groups (p=0.041). Conclusion: Our findings suggest that displayed an

The effect of Swedish massage on pain, flexion range of motion, the electrical activity of the quadriceps muscles, and their co-contraction with the hamstring muscles during walking in women with medial compartment knee osteoarthritis: a randomized c

Introduction: Knee osteoarthritis (KOA) is associated with decreased muscle strength, muscle activity, and impaired knee range of motion (ROM). This study aimed to investigate the effect of Swedish massage on pain, the flexion of knee joint ROM, the electrical activity of the quadriceps muscles, and their co-contraction with the hamstring muscles during walking in women with medial compartment ...

Biofeedback exercise improved the EMG activity ratio of the medial and lateral vasti muscles in subjects with patellofemoral pain syndrome.

Patellofemoral pain syndrome (PFPS) is usually due to weakness of vastus medialis obliquus (VMO) resulting in abnormal patellar tracking. One of the objectives of rehabilitation is to strengthen the VMO so as to counterbalance the vastus lateralis (VL) action during normal activities. This study compared the effects of an 8-week exercise program with and without EMG biofeedback on the relative ...
